This receptor serves as a key component in the intricate androgen signaling pathway. It’s essential to note that both males and females possess ARs, but they are more prominent in males due to the higher levels of androgens typically found in their bodies.<\/p> The journey of masculinity begins during fetal development, where the androgen receptor plays a fundamental role. In male embryos, the presence of the Y chromosome triggers the development of testes. These testes, in turn, produce testosterone, which activates the androgen receptor.
